| Psychiatrists say, those who lie about being a Vietnam Veteran or lie about being in combat, do so because they have a low self esteem. If you are not a Vietnam Vet you will easily be exposed as a phony by a real Vet or by someone who searches for your name in a Vietnam Veterans data base on the Internet. It will be very embarrassing to you when this happens, and it will. If you were in Vietnam but not in combat you should be proud of your role in the war no matter how insignificant you think it was. For every one man in combat it took ten men in support. Anyone in combat would have traded places with you if he could have. There were no absolutely safe places in Vietnam and your job was just as important to the combined effort of the U.S. Military there. Telling lies only distorts the facts and confuses those who were not there. ALL Vietnam Veterans are BROTHERS. Be honest, tell the story the way it really was and don't pull yourself down into the gutter where the phony Vietnam Vets are. Mike |
